OK, so after getting more hits than this blog has ever seen by a massive margin (I wonder if it had anything to do with free stuff?), I've gotten almost zero feedback on these tunes. That either means that you've all gotten together and agreed that, since the songs are so terrible, it's probably best to just pretend that none of this ever happened, or you're all so engrossed in listening to my brilliance that you can't take time away from dancing and clapping to even type.
Or it could be something else. Either way, thoughts? Email or post them here. Also, let me know how the "passing along" is going.
More blogging soon. I mean, I'm on a roll here.

Grace and Peace!
sorry, evan. they'll go out soon. your request came in a few hours after i sent out the first batch, so i was waiting to get a few more requests so that i don't have to do twenty emails a day. You'll get them tonight.
thanks!
So I was thinking about how to advertise your new CD...
If you can come up with an aweosme YouTube video that promotes it that is also just flat out hilarious, you'll have a good chance at selling some CD's. I'm a fan of not too much technology, but a lot of the world loves them some YouTube. So if you want to sell it, meet the people where they are!
On that note... maybe hit some smaller town churches and play some music and sell some CD's. I know some churches who might possibly be interested and they have lots of little children running around. I guess it's generally kind of like your house concerts, but I guess you always need new areas, right?
Also, I know this might sound old-fashioned, but maybe just talking to people in daycares and stuff around here and seeing if they are interested. I think you're doing well by the requirements on the last blog in return for the free stuff. That'll get some word out.
I know all of this is probably not anything you didn't know or hadn't thought of, but there you go. Some thoughts and ideas on marketing.
I definitely like the happy to be me song. It's fun, yet not sugar-rush crazy. In our house, "toot" has a very strong, extremely negative connotation. Especially after cheap Taco Tuesdays at Rosa's. Also, I have yet to call my child a toot. ;) If I wasn't so cute does have a rockin' beat and is catchy.
We just sent the songs to some people with kids and teachers of young children all over this great state, and I'll pass on their thoughts.
...and I just heard back from a mother of 7 who said she loves both songs, ESPECIALLY the toot song. She wants to buy the CD when it comes out. Oh, she said the songs made her LOL. Ah, the interweb.
happy2bme is one of my favorites. I loved it live and the CD version is great as well. 'Toot' is still growing on me but I like it so far. I think the intro sounds Steve Miller-ish (which is a plus).
i like happy2bme! can't wait to hear the rest! i passed them both along to about 25 mommies...
Ross, are these on the web anywhere? Do you want them posted in places like facebook? Or maybe you prefer more individual delivery. Your call.
I appreciate the thoughtful (stream of consciousness?) writing of happy2bme, and the tune is downright catchy. The vocals sound a bit strained in the final chorus.
If I Wasn't So Cute is also catchy. I identify with it because I learned early on how to charm my mom out of being mad at me. My adorable face saved me many a time. Don't know how I feel about the screaming parts at the end of the verses. Maybe it will sound different after more production. I guess it just sounds sort of weak right now. Maybe you could get that Linkin Park guy to scream for you. He's pretty good at it.
Great work!
Hey Ross,
You may not remember me (my name is Adam, I have dreads, I met you at Chapel back in the day, etc). Anyway, I live in Albuquerque now...so, consider the New Mexico marketing campaign taken care of for the kid's album - or any other album for that matter! Since I'm a new dad (Josiah is 7 months old), I hang out with folks who have kids who want cool, God-loving songs for there kids to sing to (I mean, c'mon, any sane person can only take so much VeggieTales or PraiseBaby). So, keep on keepin' on brotha, and let me know when stuff is ready to buy!

My favorite part about this whole posting/ kids' record series is how If I Wasn't So Cute has somehow become known as "The Toot Song."
I had happy to be me stuck in my head for DAYS! And If I Wasn't So Cute is perfect. Just perfect and relevant and perfect. LOVE THEM! Sent them to everyone in my MOPS group and am posting them on my blog soon. Good stuff! Can't wait for the whole thing!
OH MY!!! I missed it! Since my last post was on the kids CD post way back then, I hope I can get in on this even though I'm WAY late!!

Please!!
Where is the free music? I can't find it.
Fantasical! Both a great. "Cute" is spot on for my 4 year old. And if it is being know as the "toot" song... well good thing you didn't write "If I wasn't so smart"... sorry, I went there. anyway, very very good stuff. I am passing them on to some preschool teachers. They should be able to relate.
